It's different-- hunted becomes the hunter in a gritty Southern folktale.
Readers are asking about Book 3 in the Subterranean Series, but I couldn't get this book out of my head. I had to write it before stepping back into the Sunschorched world.
I love it. I'm sad it's coming to an end. I'm nervous it isn't as good as I think it is. I'm a mess!
There's a phase of childbirth called “transition,” during which a laboring mother faces an overwhelming amount of pain and pressure. You’ve probably seen it in movies. It’s the point where a sweating, thrashing woman announces she can’t go on. She can’t do this. It’s never going to work. (Insert watermelon/lemon analogy here.)
Writing a book is much the same. Toward the end you’re certain it’s never going to work. You can’t go on. What you thought was a brilliant idea was actually total crap. You’ll never deliver, and even if you could no one will ever love it.
Oh, transition. So close to the end. There’s no way to stop what’s coming. Will I cherish this new arrival or turn my head and send it away?
